St Botolph's Church
As the only Church of England foundation school in Shepshed, we work together closely to support each other in the core work in our school and Church.
We worked closely with our Foundation Governors in deciding on our core Christian values that permeate our school in our daily actions.
Our 6 Christian values are important and are seen as essential in establishing our school ethos:
Creation – We celebrate and enjoy the world in all its diversity.
Community –We nurture positive relationships within the school and wider community.
Compassion – We support one another, sharing experiences.
Endurance – We persevere in the face of hardship and never give up.
Responsibility – We share a collective responsibility for our world, community and the people in it.
Trust – Trust lies at the heart of the relationships within our school.
These have become the core values that permeate the whole ethos of the school and the values we want to drive us in our lives.
Our daily Acts of Worship continue to be supported by members of the Church.
In addition, we hold our Harvest and Easter celebration services in Church and also utilise the beautiful Church for some of our Christmas performances and end of Y6 St Bafta's award ceremony. We also write a monthly article for the Parish magazine – an article written by the children in each class throughout the year.
We always support and promote annual Church events through our school newsletter and attendance at events such as the Christmas tree festival, Christingle service and Rotary concerts. In addition, our Foundation Governors continue to support us in a formal and informal capacity through their regular visits to the school and support during our visits to Church.
Over the last few years we have further strengthened our work with the Church - we have our loyal readers – members of the Church congregation who regularly come in to school to hear our children read.
In March 2016 we received an Outstanding SIAMS Inspection. Click here to see a copy of the report.
